In a 13th century palace overlooking piazza della Repubblica, Marco and Lara welcome you at restaurant “La Loggetta” to let you taste the dishes of their Tuscan cuisine.
“La Loggetta”, which is named after the beautiful loggia from where you can admire some of the most enchanting historic palaces of Cortona, is a refined restaurant run by a group of young people who have devoted themselves to this business for many years. The typical enthusiasm of youth can be found in the cuisine they propose, which never follows ordinary trends but is constantly in search of the gastronomic roots of the region, allowing sometimes nice digressions in cooking. The chef Marco pays always attention to the territory and the seasons by perfectly using all the local ingredients of the season. High quality and fresh products are the starting point to make traditional recipes such as Chianina beef tagliata or pappardelle (large tagliatelle) with wild boar sauce and other recipes created by the chef like fillet with leek and truffle, Cortonese-style tripe or pici (hand-made spaghettis) “carbonara” (with eggs and pepper sauce).
The same care put in cooking can be found in the nice hospitality of the staff, thanks to Lara, who will guide you step by step in choosing your meals. “La Loggetta” has a rich wine list where the top class wines produced in Cortona and in the whole Tuscany stand out. The restaurant is available for wedding receptions and banquets and is the favourite venue for most of the couples who get married at the town hall, thanks to its proximity and the extremely charming location. During the summertime it is possible to have lunch or dinner outside under the beautiful vaults of the loggia.
