n June, the timeless charm of Cortona meets the absolute elite of international classical music. NUME Academy & Festival 2026 transforms the Tuscan village into a vibrant capital of string instruments, uniting living legends of the global scene with the brightest promises of the future in one great project.

The festival stands out for its dual soul:

• The Academy of Excellence: An exclusive artistic residency that this year will see 13 very young talents—selected from over 350 applications worldwide—attend completely free masterclasses at the former Convent of Sant’Agostino. The public will be able to attend the lessons free of charge.

• The International Festival: A lineup of chamber music concerts and recitals of the highest profile, featuring programs that echo the great European musical seasons.

Among the major highlights of this edition is the presence of the legendary American pianist and musicologist Robert Levin, Swedish cellist Torleif Thedéen, celebrated violinist and conductor Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider, and the “giant of the viola” Lars Anders Tomter. They will join the masters of the prestigious permanent faculty: Stella Chen, Andreas Brantelid, Vlad Stanculeasa, and Ettore Causa.

A unique opportunity to listen to live music within the city’s most evocative art venues and to breathe in the creative atmosphere of the “behind the scenes.”

Si conclude con una breve visita guidata del museo con particolare attenzione all’Assunzione della Vergine di Bartolomeo della Gatta e i suoi angeli musicanti.
