Cortona Comics 2026: “Secret Identities”

Cortona is gearing up to transform once again into the beating heart of pop culture with the fourth edition of Cortona Comics! From June 5th to 7th, 2026, the Tuscan town will host a widespread and immersive festival, guiding the public through comics, entertainment, gaming, and major guests.

This year’s theme is “Secret Identities” (Identità Segrete), a common thread that invites visitors to explore the concept of transformation through different artistic languages. The theme is inspired by both the major exhibitions and the musical events on the lineup.

The festival will unfold throughout the historic center across various themed areas and a rich program of events:

• Exhibitions and Displays:

  • “PK – Behind the Mask”: A major exhibition curated by Max Monteduro inside the Cloister of Sant’Agostino, dedicated to the famous Disney superhero.

  • “Many Identities. One Pencil”: A solo exhibition by Alessandro Bocci set in the evocative halls of the MAEC (Museum of the Etruscan Academy and of the City of Cortona).

  • “Widespread Identities”: A unique, traveling exhibition hosted directly in the shop windows of the historic center.

• The Artist Alley:

  The Cloister of Sant’Agostino will once again serve as the direct meeting point between creators and fans. Over 30 top names in Italian comics—including Giuseppe Camuncoli, Claudio Sciarrone, and Corrado Mastantuono—will be available for panels, signings, and live commissions.

• The Festival Squares:

  • Piazza Signorelli: The hub for live shows and entertainment.

  • Piazza Garibaldi: The food area and the themed market dedicated to comics and pop culture.

  • Piazza della Repubblica: The space dedicated to playful and creative activities for all ages.

• Esports, Gaming, and Pop Culture:

  Among this year’s highlights is a massive esports and gaming area open to everyone with dedicated tournaments, alongside spaces for retrogaming, workshops, masterclasses, and comic book schools. Meanwhile, Palazzo Ferretti will bring the Star Wars universe to life with exhibitions, shows, and live lightsaber combat demonstrations.

• Kids Area and Young Talents:

  Plenty of room for the creativity of children and future comic artists, featuring spaces for young talents and LEGO Education activities.

• The Main Concert:

  The headline musical event will take place on Friday evening at the “Santi Tiezzi” Municipal Stadium, featuring a live performance by Tony Pitony, perfectly tying into the 2026 edition’s theme.

Access to the public areas of the festival is free, while workshops, tournaments, and special experiences can be accessed via a daily wristband or a full festival pass.
