Golf in Cortona – Next opening summer 2014

Soon, Cortona will have a golf course that will provide the passionate and local neophytes, tourists, and inhabitants, the possibility to practice this pleasant and relaxing sport that Italy is now enjoying with greater popularity.

The Manzano Golf Resort will be the first golf course of Cortona and will extend throughout an area of 115 hectares. The 18 holes have been designed by Gary Player, the “Black Knight”, of South Africa, a 70 year old champion and winner of 9 major titles. The course is immersed in the green of the typical Tuscan landscape between hills and expansive vineyards in the sunlight. It will be challenging with holes protected by bunkers and some fairways lined with water hazards. It will be however, adapted to every type of player, and any handicap.

The Manzano Golf Resort of Cortona will be easily reachable by car for those who come from the north and the south, nearby the A1 Highway at the di Valdichina exit, from there, taking the Siena-Perugia superhighway toward Perugia and exiting at for Foiano-Cortona and heading toward Cortona (via Manzano) you will arrive at the club house within just 10 minutes.

To bring golf to Cortona has been the first priority of the Manzano Golf Resort, for those who want to begin this sport or experienced players who want to perfect their own technique will be able to have lessons and instruction with their on site experts. The game is adapted for all, and can be started from even six year’s of age, hoping with time and constant practice, to become one of the true champions.
