Restaurant, wine shop, bar – traditional Tuscan cuisine
Open year round – closed on MONDAY

Restaurant Caffè dei Rossi is located in Fratta di Cortona, at the bottom of the hill of Cortona. It offers typical dishes of Tuscan tradition, which are prepared with selected ingredients bought from local producers, such as steaks of Chianina race, Florentine-style tripe, pici (handmade spaghetti) with our grandmother’s sauce (a secret recipe that has been handed down through three generations in the Rossi family), pork shinbone cooked in red wine, meat stewed in Chianti wine, Chianina stew with potatoes.

This restaurant- wine bar, founded in 1956, was once a grocery. It has been run by the Rossi family for three generations and is characterized by an informal and welcoming atmosphere. The present owner, Cosetta Rossi, is responsible for overall managing of the kitchen and deals personally with the selection of ingredients and with food and wine matching. The wine cellar has excellent local wines (Cortona DOC) and a careful selection of the best Tuscan and Italian wines (amarone, barolo, nero d'avola).

With a beautiful view of Cortona and the possibility to have lunch or dinner in the open air, Caffè dei Rossi offers its clients the chance to taste delicious traditional recipes of Cortona and excellent wines at a very good price. Try our restaurant even for light lunches, like a starter of local cold cuts and cheese, served with a good Chianti or Cortona DOC. We offer a tourist menu for lunch starting from only 15€.

Free Internet wireless connection and pay tv (Mediaset Premium)

Every two weeks, on Saturday night, we organize special evenings combining our cuisine with wine tasting in collaboration with important national producers. We offer special dinners dedicated to Italian and International cuisine, such as buffalo mozzarella, Valencian paella, typical Tuscan, Umbrian, Sicilian, and Neapolitan cuisine.
