MAGNIFICAT<\/span><\/h5>\n

this year\u2019s theme of\u00a0Sacred Music Festival<\/strong> of Cortona that is held every year since 2004 and it\u2019s organized by the Cortona Cristiana Association<\/em> following an ideal of fusion between art, music, culture and religious faith. The goal of the association is to promote and spread the artistic and musical Christian culture in an environment where culture has always blended with faith. No location can be better than Cortona: the Tuscan city boasts the Laudario Cortonese, which presents in particular forty-six laude music, still presented during the various editions of the Festival.<\/p>\n

Through various concerts that will be distributed in Cortona, the purpose of the Sacred Music Festival is to rediscover the spirituality lost, through religious melodies. Anyone can actively participate in liturgical singing courses: a way to feel like a leading event in Cortona.<\/p>\n

Among the different locations in Cortona that hosted the artistic events during the editions, we find: the evocative Eremo delle Celle<\/em>, the Church of San Domenico<\/em>, the Church of San Francesco<\/em> up to the Duomo<\/em>. With the participation of prestigious artists and famous art scholars such as Vittorio Sgarbi.<\/p>\n

Other local institutions also participate in the organization of the Sacred Music Festival: the Diocese of Arezzo, the Accademia degli Arditi and the Etruscan Academy.<\/p>\n

Within the city walls of Cortona there are seventeen churches, which show the deep-rooted presence of religious faith. We cannot forget to mention that the famous \u201cLaudario Cortonese\u201d was written in Cortona in the 13th century. It is a handwritten collection of laude and religious poems, the oldest book of its kind preserved in the world (today displayed in the Municipal Library of Cortona). In particular, it contains forty-six laude set to music, which have been often sung during the different editions of the Sacred Music Festival.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cortonaweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/DSC7182.jpg\"><img class=\"alignright wp-image-1048\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cortonaweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/DSC7182.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a>\r\n\r\nThe members of the Associazione Cortona Cristiana make every effort to organize these events in order to enhance the artistic valorization, production and circulation of sacred works. Even for those who are not practicing Catholics or those who believe in a different religion, the Sacred Music Festival represents a moment of high spirituality and innerness to elevate one\u2019s dignity by listening to good sacred, liturgical and religious music. Choir concerts and chamber orchestras, organ concerts and Gregorian chants alternate with religious theatrical performances, with conferences and photo exhibitions. Special events are also planned during the festival, such as liturgical chants classes, specific courses to learn the techniques and melodies of Gregorian chants and moments of pray in the monasteries of the town.\r\n\r\nOn the background of these events we see some of the most prestigious and beautiful churches of Cortona, like the Church of San Domenico, the Basilica of Santa Margherita, the Church of San Francesco, the Cathedral and the Hermitage Le Celle.\r\n\r\nThe Sacred Music Festival of Cortona is organized in collaboration with the Accademia degli Arditi, the Etruscan Academy, the
