CASA MARCELLA - Cortona

Casa Marcella è situate in un luogo tranquillo, non si sente il rumore del traffico che corre sulla strada principale. Dalla terrazza si ha una splendida vista della Valdichiana, con le montagne che delimitano l’orizzonte. La piscina di 7,5 m. x 3,5 m. è situata nel giardino privato e guarda su un oliveto e sulla Valdichiana, all’altra estremità della quale, a 40 minuti di distanza in auto, c’è Montepulciano.

L’appartamento è al primo piano e si raggiunge per mezzo di una scala esterna di 18 gradini. Vi è un soggiorno ben arredato con zona pranzo e zona salotto. Vi è un caminetto aperto, che però non è utilizzabile. Si può invece utilizzare il secondo caminetto aperto, in cucina. Accanto al soggiorno vi è la cucina, con piastra di cottura a 4 fuochi, il forno ed un frigorifero. Vi è una piccola lavanderia, da dividere con il proprietario, che abita al piano terra.

Un corridoio collega il soggiorno alle tre camere da letto: due con letto matrimoniale ed una con due letti singoli. Vi sono due bagni completamente attrezzati, uno con doccia e l’altro con vasca.

Casa Marcella è ben arredata ed era una volta abitata dai proprietari, assai amichevoli, i cui figli sono ormai cresciuti ed hanno lasciato la casa paterna. I proprietari adesso abitano nell’appartamento al piano terra, che è più piccolo.

Questo appartamento è situato nel paese di Riccio, in Toscana, a soltanto un Km. dal confine con l’Umbria. Per la spesa quotidiana si può andare al bar locale, che vende anche un po’ di alimentari. A Terontola, a circa 4 Km. di distanza, vi sono una banca e l’Ufficio Postale. Il centro un po’ più grande più vicino è Camucia, a 5 Km. di distanza, dove vi sono supermercati ed altri negozi.

Cortona, un’antica rocca etrusca, è a soltanto 6 Km. di distanza. Gli scavi e le tombe etrusche sono la testimonianza dell’antico passato di Cortona. Vi è un piccolo museo che ha una splendida collezione di resti e manufatti etruschi e medioevale. Dovunque vi sono terrazze dove vengono servite bevande o la cena all’aperto. Le autorità locali organizzano spesso festival culturali e feste del luogo. Il teatro offre una buona scelta di opere e di musica.

CASA MARCELLA - Cortona

Casa Marcella is quietly situated; you cannot hear traffic from the main road. From the terrace you have a wonderful view over the Valdichiana with the mountains marking the horizon. The swimming pool of 8 m. x 3,5 m. is situated in the private garden and overlooks an olive grove and the Valdichiana valley with Montepulciano at the other end, at about 40 minutes drive.

The apartment is on the first floor and can be reached by an outside staircase with 18 steps. There is a well-furnished living room with a dining and a sitting area. There is an open fireplace that cannot be used. Whilst the second open fireplace in the kitchen can be used. Next to the living room is the kitchen with a 4-pit gas cooker, an oven and a refrigerator. There is a laundrette to share with the owner who lives downstairs.

A corridor connects the living room with the three bedrooms: two with a double bed and one with two single beds. There are two fully equipped bathrooms, one with a shower, and the other with a bath.

Casa Marcella is well furnished and was the former home of the friendly owners whose children have grown up and left their parental home. The owners now live in the smaller apartment downstairs.

This apartment is situated in the village of Riccio in Tuscany, only 1 KM from the frontier with Umbria, along the road from Perugia and Lake Trasimeno to Arezzo. For your daily shopping you can go to the local bar where they also sell some small groceries. In Terontola, about 4 KM away, there is a bank and a post office. The nearest larger town is Camucia, at 5 KM, with supermarkets and other shops.

Cortona, an old Etruscan hill town, is at only 6 KM. Etruscan excavations and an Etruscan tomb are witnesses of Cortona’s ancient past. Its small museum has an impressive collection of Etruscan remains and artefacts. In the evening Italians and tourists alike laze about the streets enjoying the medieval atmosphere. Everywhere there are terraces for a drink or to dine outside. The local authority quite often organises cultural festivals and local festivities. The theatre offers a good choice of plays and music.
