L”Appartamento del Borgo” è un grazioso appartamento nel centro storico dell’antica città etrusca di Cortona.
Si trova vicino a Piazza Garibaldi, punto d’arrivo degli autobus e punto d’entrata in città. Parcheggio pubblico è a solo 50 metri, ma gli ospiti hanno la possibilità di fermare davanti alla porta di casa per scaricare e caricare i bagagli. L’appartamento ha quattro posti letto, ma un quinto può essere aggiunto se richiesto. E’ accogliente, totalmente indipendente e frutto di un sapiente restauro.
Al piano terra si trova l’ingresso caratterizzato da un ampio arco in pietra e pavimenti in cotto toscano, bagno con vasca e lavanderia/stireria. Una scalinata in cotto conduce al primo piano, composto di sala con caminetto in pietra, cucina completamente attrezzata, una camera matrimoniale, una camera doppia e un bagno con doccia.
La cucina conserva ancora intatto l’antico acquaio in pietra serena. Tutte le stanze sono caratterizzate da pavimenti in cotto toscano, ampie arcate in pietra e soffitti con travi a vista. Molta curata è l’ attenzione per l’arredamento ed i particolari, ma senza dimenticare la funzionalità del tutto.
Dalle finestre si può ammirare un bellissimo panorama della Val di Chiana. “Appartamento del Borgo” è ideale per chi desidera passare una vacanza in centro storico, a pochi passi dai principali monumenti storico-artistici della città.

Apartment of the "Borgo"

“Appartamento del Borgo” is situated in the centre of the Etruscan hilltop town of Cortona, near Piazza Garibaldi which is one of the main points of entry to the town and where the busses arrive.
Public parking is just 50 meters away but guests can stop right outside the front door for loading and unloading luggage.
The apartment sleeps four, but a fifth bed can be added if required. It is comfortable, independent and expertly restored. On the ground floor there is a hall with a beautiful old stone arch and a Tuscan terracotta floor, a bathroom with tub and a laundry room complete with washing machine and ironing facilities.
A terracotta staircase takes you up to the first floor, which is composed of a living room with typical Tuscan fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The kitchen has a characteristic antique stone sink.
The original features including terracotta floors, big stone door lintels and heavy wooden beams enhance all the rooms. The apartment has been furnished with great care and attention, but at the same time is extremely functional. From the windows one can admire a wonderful view over the Val di Chiana. “Appartamento del Borgo” is ideal for those who wish to spend a holiday in the town centre amongst the most important historical and artistic buildings
